Kaitlin is a senior economist and manager at Torch, with extensive experience leading and delivering defensible analysis, insights, and recommendations to clients. She applies a data and insight driven approach to economic evaluation, underpinned by strategic engagement, to deliver practical and evidence-based outcomes, tailored to client needs.​

Kaitlin is equipped with a strong command of economic data and capabilities in strategic research/ analysis, market assessments, options analysis, business cases, feasibility studies, program evaluation, economic impact assessments, cost-benefit analysis, and project management. Kaitlin’s experience covers tourism, community infrastructure, sports and recreation, resources, marine, health, arts and culture, and sustainability.

Experience highlights

  • Led the delivery of economic assessments, business cases, and feasibility studies for local governments in Queensland and New South Wales, enabling investment decision making and supporting funding applications for major community assets such as aquatic centres, museums, childcare centres, civic precincts, and sustainability infrastructure. This was accompanied by supporting successful applications to funding programs including the Building Better Regions Fund, Growing Regions Program, and Multi-Sport Community Facility Fund.​
  • Defined and quantified the current and potential future economic contribution of emerging and niche sectors such as the green economy, dinosaur tourism, health and well-being, and knowledge industries for various local governments across Queensland. This was supported strategic planning and targeted initiatives to unlock growth opportunities for clients.​
  • Applied in-depth knowledge of tourism trends, data analysis, and projection methodologies to inform investment cases for tourism infrastructure including accommodation, trails, and recreation assets across regional Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia.​
  • Combined economic insight with effective engagement to co-develop economic and industry strategies. Recent work includes a regional net zero strategy and various local economic development, investment attraction, and workforce strategies across Australia’s regions.​
