
Ron Zubrik
Managing Director
Ron is a co-founder and Managing Director of Torch, having established the company after over two decades of experience providing expert consulting services to Government, not-for-profits and corporates, across a wide range of sectors. He was also formerly the Global Head of Sport for a Big Four consulting firm.
Ron has significant experience leading socio-economic advisory projects including those involving investment decision making, economics, social impact measurement, strategy and evaluation.
Experience highlights
- Supported the bid and planning for Brisbane 2032 including through the development of the Social, Environmental and Economic Impact Assessment, supporting the negotiation of the Joint Marketing Programme Agreement, leading the Brisbane 2032 Trade & Investment Strategy, and leading the development of the Brisbane 2032 Benefits Realisation Framework.
- Facilitated the development of PlayWell, the nationally co-designed sport sector strategy for participation in sport and recreation.
- Assisted with the planning and integration of the merger of two government statutory authorities and, in addition, the establishment of a new statutory authority.
- Led a full transformation business case and strategic review of assets for one of the largest aged care providers in Australia.
- Led a review of the elder abuse system for a state government in Australia.
- Led an evaluation of a state-wide funding program relating to the provision of support services for vulnerable cohorts across Queensland.
- Led numerous feasibility studies and business cases across events, social infrastructure, health capital projects, technology investments and for the establishment of new programs.
